Good point Kyle. It can be done but you have to lower the forks an equal amount you reduce the shock length. It will still change the swingarm angle which affects grip under acceleration and how much the rear lifts or sinks. In a nutshell it negatively affects handling. Better to get boots with thick soles and loose some seat foam.
