I have a Corbin on my 2002 NH750 and it solved my problem. I'm 5'7", shorter legs, etc. I can't flat-foot both feet at a stop but can clearly get both feet down on more than just toes or one foot down flat-footed with just a little bit of lean. The Corbin does sit lower but the front-tip is also thinner (less-wide), which helps. I would not suggest lowering as that affects all kinds of things like geometry, and simple-stuff like your side-stand. Oh, also - get boots with at least 1" soles/heels - and maybe even more, that helps.
