I don't know if the gasket is rubber or not but if it is rubber do yourself a favor and get some permatex #2 or #3 NON-HARDENING sealant for that valve cover gasket. Just spread a thin coat on both sides of the gasket and poop a little more around the cam "buttons". Your chances of getting a leak free repair go up exponentially, as rubber gaskets tend to weep. Do not use silicon RTV, any excess of that stuff can come loose, and clog your oil pickup screen, or block oil passages internal to the motor. If the replacement gasket is cork or paper then get everything spotless and install it dry, or with a thin coat of gasket shelac.
