Hey guys, This is my first post, and I wish I had stumbled across this group earlier. Im an amateur rider, I started about two years ago on a Suzuki Savage that had so many issues, I spent more time working on it then riding it. I sold that last spring and bought my first Honda. A 1993 Nighthawk 750, a year older than I am. The bike had 7k miles on it when I bought it and since then I've added another 7k. I recently put a V&H four into one exhaust on and it sounds great. It was soon after that I started encountering various problems, Im not sure if there is any correlation though.
Regarding the deceleration rattle. About a month ago I noticed a slight clicking or rattling sound that occurred for only a second or two when releasing the clutch during gear breaking or downshifting. It progressed to be a continuous rattling/clicking noise that happens whenever the clutch is *not* engaged during deceleration and especially gear breaking. Its coming from the front of the bike and my first thought was the chain. Hoping for the best case scenario, I cleaned and lubed the chain but that didn't work. Ive looked around some of these posts and online and some people are saying it could be an issue with the cam chain or tension spring? Ive found some people saying it could be the transmission gears. Its difficult to pinpoint the source because I have to be riding to hear it. Has anyone had this issue? Or know what could be going on? Im at a loss. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
