The drill bit is to drill a hole in the center of the stud, you want to use a center punch first to make a divit in the center of the stud, ifnot the bit will wanter and you'll drill off center. Drill as deep as you can but be careful not to go wide and screw up the cylinder head. You then take the other bit, with the reverse spiral, and drive it into the whole you just drilled, maybe even give it a couple of gentle wacks with a hammer to seat it in there, after this you will put a wrench on the square end and attempt to back the stud out. If your luck is anything like mine at this point you will break the screw extractor off in the middle of the stud. It's hardened steel so it is very brittle, and it's also impossible to drill out because it's harder than any drill bit you can buy, so you can't extract a broken extractor. At this point you're pulling your engine and taking it to a machine shop. To be honest, I have never had any luck with this style of screw extractor and would only consider it your absolute LAST resort. I would pull the exhaust and try to get a better angle on the stud with some grips before trying this. if the threads aren't boogered I would thread two nuts on and lock them against each other or even weld one on.
