The ride to Patagonia has been on my bucket list for a while. I've put a little research into it, and I've actually rented bikes for 3-day rides in Peru and Bolivia to see what it's like. I also did Patagonia in a car last year. If I didn't have to have my daughter along now, I would be riding around Colombia on a bike. There's a rental shop in Cali. Once I do New England this summer, the only challenge left for me on this continent will be to head south, and I'd love to take a bike to Patagonia while I'm still strong enough to do so.
Until a week ago, I was in negotiations with a guy who was selling a Nighthawk with saddlebags and a top case, and he was agreeable to selling just the luggage to me. I didn't actually have time to do the deal before I hit the road, so I left with the arrangement in the picture I posted last night (don't know if you saw it). Since his ad disappeared off craigslist during my current ride, it appears he sold the bike as is. Regarding gear, I would like things to be locked down and out of sight if I were south of the border. I've been robbed 3 times down there. Let me know if you get serious about Patagonia and want to throw in. My Spanish is good. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
