Thanks, Allen! I am fairly sure the chain and sprockets are the original, maybe 10k? The bike came from a MSF class, and I'm fairly sure he's the second owner after them. We plan to take the bike in for service, probably having the chain and sprockets replaced. He just had the clutch replaced, as the students likely wore it out!
Good point about the throttle lock and highway pegs. That sounds like a much more comfortable ride. He's planning on taking state routes, where possible, as that's where the best scenery can be found. As far as I know, the bike isn't equipped with a maintenance stand, just the side stand for parking. He's planning to bring tools for tightening bolts and removing tires, as well as a patch kit.
