All,
In the grand scope of generalities - if you've got issues with the
bike idling but runs ok - you must understand there are three sets of jets
in most Honda carbs - an idle jet, mid, and high range jet. In general the
idle jets are the ones that will clog up with junk, resulting in exactly
what you're describing.
Although we're all great fans of Seafoam (The Cure-All!) Seafoam only
helps when you have something for it to run through - if the jet is clogged
solid, as these would indicate, the only option is to tear the carbs off
the bike and clean them.
Although I have not used it myself, a 50/50 dilution of Pine-Sol and
water has been rumored to clean carbs in the past. There are many other
methods including commercial cleaners. I know of some older school bike
shops that will charge you very little if you bring in the carbs yourself
and leave them to soak in the tank for a few days.
I'm afraid guys - that you're in for some cleaning - no matter how
you do it!
