Joey, I actually have used PineSol -- straight up, no chaser. And I
found....contrary to what some people would have you believe...that it
worked great! It went a long way toward getting my carbs clean, and it's
dirt cheap. However, I followed it up with Yamalube. Getting the dirt and
grease off the carbs keeps my Yamalube cleaner, and it ain't cheap. In fact,
it's about $16 a quart. The good thing about Yamalube is that it does not
harm rubber, so you don't have to worry about the o-rings as you would with
a carb dip like Berriman's. If I don't break the rack, it avoids all manner
of problems, not the least of which is finding the right sized o-rings and
getting the butterflies back correctly. .

One more quick point...The carbs I've seen have only two jets per se --
"idle" or "slow" jets and main jets. You've all probably seen this, but
I'll attach a gif that shows at which point in the throttle turn each part
works. According to this, when the throttle is all the way off, the only
thing letting anything in is the mixture screw setting. The slow jet
doesn't kick in until 3/16 turn. I personally don't know what a "throttle
valve cutaway" is. Maybe someone does.

Dang, I wish Allen could chime in here and gently tell me I don't know what
I'm talking about again. I guess I'm just an old softy, but his passing
just hurts. I think about it every day. Nobody said life was fair, and
nobody was right.
