That's a "bad battery" sound to me, but since you've got a new battery in 
it, that points to something else. As you know, electrical connections will 
oxidize over time, increasing resistance and reducing current flow.

At the very least, clean the connections to the starter motor, put some 
dielectric grease on them, and put them back. Have you put a multimeter on 
the leads to the starter motor?
