In short, the choke restricts airflow "chokes", which causes the carb to draw
mOre fuel which effectively primes the bike. Newer small engines like lawn
mowers, weed whackers and chain saws have a primer plunger, which allows you to
directly inject fuel into the carb without using a choke. Watch this guy
