I think even a brand new bike might need some choke to start. In my experience
this is something that depends a lot on the bike, the particular carb setup,
and more largely on the temperature. In general, the colder the weather the
more the choke is needed. In my NH750, I almost always can start the engine
with no choke (unless it is extremely cold), but I will need a bit of of choke
in the next couple of seconds or the engine dies. On my cbr1000f, I can't
almost never start with no choke, no matter how hot it's outside. I think each
bike has her own character no matter how old it is. You just need to find
what's yours.

Just wondering what's the "correct/original" way to start up a cb450sc. If we
traveled back to the 1980s and bought a brand new bike, would we still apply
the choke, or it would have started with just a simple push of the ignition, no
choke required. Now in the present, I'm wondering if i'm choking it cause the
bike is old or because that's just how you do it. lol

Hi Group,

New rider here. Just bought this bike and the tires I suspect are originals. I
wanted to change them to dual sport tires. Can this be done using the same
comstars?
the rear is 130/90-16 and front is 100/90-19.

thanks
