Well I just wanted to post a quick update on the sprocket- I took the bike on a 180 mile cruise to Starved Rock, IL and my chain was making a ton of noise the whole trip. It was loud enough that my dad who was riding next to me on his Harley (with loud ass Vance & Hines pipes) could hear it over his bike.
So my first thought was that the rear wheel wasn't straight from when I loosened it. But after measuring, I found that the rear wheel was perfectly straight. Then I thought about this thread and how the sprocket only goes one way, and I had switched it to have the letters facing in towards the bike. I pulled the sprocket cover off and the noise was definitely coming from this area, so I flipped the sprocket around so the letters/logo are facing out. And sure enough, the noise went away. I am very relieved to have fixed the issue...the last thing I want is my chain to snap on me while riding.
