I've always been able to clean slow Jets with Berrimen's Chem Dip and then
compressed sir. I keep carb cleaner away from rubber parts, except for Yamalube
carb cleaner, which is safe with any rubber. Regarding the sensitive tach,
you're probably talking about doing an idle drop? I just go 2 1/2 turns out and
then check the plugs for rich/lean evidence. Some kind of manometer is needed
to sync the carbs after a bench sync, esp. if the bike "pops." I made one out
of plastic tubing from Home Depot and some ATF. Check YouTube for instructions.
Good luck.
