I rode one at a local shop a year or so ago. I thought as you do that it
would be a logical replacement and upgrade for my Nighthawk. One ride
killed that for me. Besides the fact that it felt too tall for me (29"
inseam), it had way too buzz and rattle. I understand the engineers mounted
the engine in rubber to smooth it out, but it felt cheap with a lot of
vibration. I knew in a minute that it was not a replacement for my
Nighthawk, and I dropped it from my Internet searches.

Of course, what you're used to can change. You may get one, grow into it,
and like it. The only way you'll know is to test ride it. I didn't think I
liked my Pacific Coast at first, but now I prefer it to the Nighthawk,
something I never thought I would say. In short, give it a try, but don't
expect it to be anything like your Nighthawk.

People love their V-Stroms. Have you thought about going that direction?
