Sean, I've been thinking about your post. I've got 60,000 miles on my '96
750, and I've never had anything wrong with it to speak of. So I'm
wondering how much you've been relying on mechanics.

I've had my bike in all four corners of the US, but I hesitate to take it
on another long trip because I worry that it's due for its first breakdown
while I'm states away.

Can I ask you, what repairs have you had your mechanic do, and at what
mileage? If I did some preventive maintenance before a trip, what should I
change or take an extra of?

In other words, I'm wondering if you can predict my first breakdown on the
basis of what's already happened on your bike. Your thoughts?
