If any of the tricks above work, I'd still plan on pulling and cleaning the carbs at some point. If they clog up once they can do it again, and even if the float doesn't stick you can still get chunks in the needles.
A good cleaning, some fresh o-rings, and a new sieve filter sock in the tank feels great, and it's not hard to do.
