I now have the exhaust back on the bike. Using Graham’s ratchet strap idea on the mufflers, I then placed a trolley jack under the exhaust. I fitted the headers in position and then gently jacked up the exhaust. This lifted the exhaust up, but more importantly, it also pushed the system back and I was able to eat the muffler bolts in place. One of the problems that I had on previous efforts was the centre bracket. I eventually left the bracket off and fitted it after all of the bolts were in place. It’s the first time I’ve fitted an exhaust to a Nighthawk, struggled at first but got there in the end.
