I use my 20-35mm f/2.8 (AFD) on my D700 and love the results. It really is helpful to be able to move lenses from my F100 to the D700 and back again and not have to get used to changing perspective all of the time. I haven't noticed any light fall off in the corners.
I also love using my 105mm f/1.8 manual focus lens on the D700, especially in the studio. It wasnt too long ago (well, maybe it was, perceived time passes by faster sometimes), that some people didnt believe Nikon would release a FF sensor, let alone such a beauty. The D700 with a Nikkor 24mm produces stunning landscape images. I'll be trying my fish eye lens in a few days to see how that works out.
