This coming from one of a handful of core devs is discouraging. Doing necessary 
work is rarely exciting. The more clean and understandable the compiler/stdlib 
are, the less burden lies on the main team. The more others can work 
autonomously, the less intervention and attention from you is required.

BTW, speaking of personal preferences, are the roles of the main team defined 
in some way or is it free-for-all? For example, do you have a concrete sphere 
of responsibility (besides moderation and running nimble.directory)? I'm also 
specifically interested in who maintains tooling and forums.
