@Araq [rejected](https://github.com/nim-lang/Nim/issues/7449) this idea in 2018. I did a search before suggesting, and specifically formulated it in a way to not repeat the rejected suggestion — i.e. as an _optional sugar_ which does _not_ mimic the usual code.
In other words, I'm not suggesting to change anything core.
