Hi all, Because two have mentioned use of TypeIt4Me, I will described some of the problems for which I can see what happens but can only guess where the solution is to be found. I am using TypeIt4Me X 1.0; I do not know what happens with the OS 9 version so I cannot comment on its effect with Nisus Writer 6.5. Case 1. Using Nisus Email. I have kept the Finder Edit>Show Clipboard open to see where the expansion phrase goes. If I use the palette to insert the expansion, nothing appears in the Clipboard or if the clipboard has some text in it, that text stays without change. With the correct TypeIt4Me Abbreviations Palette open, typing the Abbreviation and hitting either Space-bar or Return or other trigger will not guarantee that the expansion will be made. If an expansion occurs [often because it is the first one made after opening the palette] then it seems to be put in the Clipboard. However I believe that the Finder Edit>Clipboard is not being cleared during the expansion process. Case 2. Using NE or OmniOutliner. These are the two I can vouch for. I type some text. What should happen is that ti4m stores ONLY the characters making up the last word or number after a Space. For example, if I type *ti4m* [without the *] then it will save those four letters, check the Expansion list and, if the letters make up an Abbreviation, put the Expanded phrase into the Clipboard and replace the abbreviation with it. However, suppose I am typing away and have stopped to think what to write next but have not typed a Trigger. ti4m permits you to define a number of characters which will expand the abbreviation; Spacebar is the most common. Before I end the typed word with a Space, I see a spelling mistake so I use the mouse and click after the wrong letter. Normally I expect the insertion cursor to be put there but this is not so. What happens is that the word/number just typed is INSERTED at the point where I just clicked. Example: I type in this line and write *Nissus wrriter*. Next line I type *There is an error* but before I put a space after *error* I click in the wrongly spelled word. This is what I get. *Nisserrorus wrriter* I can replicate this every time with OmniOutliner but it happens intermittantly in Nisus Email. It is very disconcerting. ================================= Regards from Brian Ferguson Mac OS X 10.2.2 & Nisus Email X 1.6.1 ================================= --------------------------------------------------- The Nisus Interactive List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Searchable archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/nisus-interactive%40nisus.com/ To unsubscribe from this list please send a message with "unsubscribe nisus-interactive" in the body of the email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
