Hello Everyone! As some of you might know I had applied to a few graduate schools to go on for a PhD after my Masters at UMD. I have an exciting news to share on that front. I have accepted an offer from the Language Technologies Institute at the Carnegie Mellon University.
Few weeks ago I visited CMU for the open house that they had organized for prospective graduate students and needless to say it is very impressive. I think one of the greatest plus point of CMU is the rare combination of quality as well as quantity that it offers. LTI alone has 25 full time faculty, 77 PhD students and 25 Masters student! They have multiple active projects in Machine Translation, Information Retrieval, Tutoring Systems, Question Answering and Knowledge Representation to name a few research areas! Finally, I have no doubt that I would have not achieved even half as much had it not been for Ted's continuous guidance and encouragement - Thanks Ted!
