Actually, rsync has one of the best man pages you'll find. Probably
all you need.

No need to tunnel. The ssh transport is integrated with rsync. Very slick.

If you look in your NLUG mail archive (I'd bet that's part of what
you're wanting to back up, isn't it?) , you'll find Brandon's answer
to my identical question five or ten years ago! :-)
