It has been at least a month since I had to deal with this so I might misremember the details. As I recall, my main objective was to sync the bookmarks of my main FF2 installation (MDV 2008.1) with the bookmarks of the PortableApps-based FF2 (then upgraded to FF3) running from a flashdrive, which was then accessed via my work laptop running Windows XP. [1] I hope that makes sense. LOL With FF2, it was as simple as copying the "bookmarks.html" file from the laptop to the flashdrive. When I went with FF3, I could export/import, but that added the new bookmarks to the old, rather than replacing everything. I tried copying the file like I did with FF2, but FF3 seemed to want to restore a saved copy of the bookmarks. I only had to wrestle with it a couple of weekends, so I never made time to find a simple way to deal with it once I was off the road. I did briefly look at Foxmarks, but IIRC, that didn't really seem to scratch this particular itch. So, there ya go. :-) JMJ [1] FWIW, the reason I went the PortableApps route is that my "work laptop" could be either of the 2 that I carried with me, or another pair altogether. PortableApps has proven to be the best way of having access to the applications I wanted, without having to install (and update) a bunch of stuff on a variety of laptops. http://www.portableapps.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
