Ive been running Myth now for like 3 years or so, maybe touch longer.
But no HD yet, from what Ive seen James is right with the HDHomerun.

One thing to remember with LinuxMCE, it really wants to be the one and
only machine. It likes to be your router, your dvr, your samba, your
home automation....everything. That is what kept me off of using it
here at home. Take that with a grain of salt.

On that...

You can do a lot with myth. Ive been running Knoppmyth almost the
whole time and cant complain. Use it for DVR single tuner setup no
HD. I also use podget to get my podcasts both video and audio. Mount
with samba my shared file server with all my media on it. It index's
that and can easily play that in the video section of myth, same goes
for the video podcasts. Use samba on the mythbox to share out its
media to an xbmc hacked 1st gen xbox.

Before you totaly dismiss a myth distro...might play with it some.
Knoppmyth for me was a 20min install and i was up and recording tv
shows....seriously. This was like 1-2 years ago when i last
reinstalled it. It upconverts dvd's pretty nicely when i do watch
them. Use a pvr-150 with remote, so it is nice to sit back with.
Only thing i wish it had, a decent browser so i could get to some of
the streaming media sites. im about to trash this setup and go all
mac here and use a mac mini with boxee or xbmc straight, cause i just
dont have a want or need to record media anymore, with 90% of
everything online streaming now.

But thats my input of having a linux media center in my house now for
like 4 years.
