I was looking into sphinx. The difficulty there is that I also use a
search engine
that happens to be called, sphinx. Go figure.

It needs to be able to pick out key words, rather than lex and parse every word.

a microcosm of the tree would be something like.

computer: please say or enter security code
user: 11111
computer: please describe wtf is wrong with you
user: blah blah blah $ITEM_COMPUTER_KNOWS_ABOUT is missing
it has been gone for $HOURS hours
computer: I understand that $ITEM_COMPUTER_KNOWS_ABOUT is missing for $HOURS
user: yes || no
computer: thanks here is your case number, keep an eye on email.

surprisingly, adhearsion will let me do all of this if I were to use
keypad only.
While I know I am essentially asking for
$INSERT_MILLIONS_OF_DOLLARS_OF_RESEARCH for free.
I would be surprised if it doesn't already exist in some form.

it's for a soon to be non profit.

It isn't essential. If I find anything, I'll post an update.

and with the program I am writing. It has a very smart arse tone.
If you said that, it would probably prompt back,
I'm sorry, but my capacity to handle morons is saturated at this time,
goodbye. <disconnect>
