At a former job, my boss insisted that if Internet RFCs called for doing things 
one way, and Microsoft practice was to do things another way, that meant that 
the "industry standard" was to follow Microsoft's practice.

Funny you should mention preferring text email.  I'm starting a new
support contract with a company.  My contract supervisor asks me to top
post and wants to know why my emails come up as text files.  Insists on
a vcard signature on emails because it looks "professional."  That line
always leads me to ask about the oldest profession.

Damn muggles.
