As for GSM carriers, I've had T-Mobile and AT&T in Middle Tennessee and I
can say that I had constant problems and dropped calls for the 7 years I had
T-Mobile (on at least 6 different phones). After switching to AT&T two
years ago, I almost never find myself in a dead zone and I've had much fewer
dropped calls. I have an iPhone which is pretty well known for dropping
calls so I attribute the few dropped calls that I have had to the iPhone and
not the carrier.

T-Mobile -- boo
AT&T - yay

Chris

P.S. Many people (myself included) do hate AT&T for the way they run their
business but I've had no problems with them as a cellular provider and have
never had any billing issues or anything.
