I am also on the market for the same thing. In a "money is no object" world
I'd just get a Dell Developer Edition. They are very good looking machines.
But at $1500, not going to happen for me.

But I have been searching the 3 to 4 year old thinkpads like the t420/420s.
And dell precision refurbs would probably be a easy linux install too. They
appear to be all intel cpu wifi and nvidia graphis and the m4600 can go to
32gb ram.
