I think there has been work, and patch submissions to the mailing list,
but there has been no real response. The list has been a dead zone
until recently.

I think moving the repository is a good idea, despite the valiant
efforts of Doug hosting the repository. The main reason is to
avoid the single-point of failure in nmh development.

I've had a free software project for years and I realized that I
needed to move the repository somewhere so if something happens to me,
it would be others to take over, if they desire. I think the people
advocating the move are just considering what is best for the project
and not exhibiting any malice towards anyone.

I think the resources behind savannah are much better than any
individual person involved with nmh can provide for hosting the CVS
repository. Since the GNU folks are using Savannah for GNU projects,
I figure it would take something extraordinary for savannah to bite it.
Plus, they do offer CVS nightly backups that can be downloaded, just
in case.

It seems now that their people who are willing to put the effort
in. Otherwise, the whole issue of access the CVS repository would
have never come up. I personally have a couple things I would
like to tinker with in nmh to help improve it.
