I agree with Ken's comments here: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/nmh-workers/2017-08/msg00193.html If you want to change where the Content-MD5 header is added, I have no objection. Or, just note the situation you described above in the documentation. It occurs to me that mhfixmsg doesn't update a Content-MD5 header if it changes the content.
