Fair enough. That's what my patch and now Stephen's patch attempt to accomplish. I imagine that if I were to take such a message that inc had brought into my Mail store,that when I forward such a message the rest of nmh would handle it, but that remains to be seen. I'm still confused why binary data is allowed apass to exceed the limit defined in RFC 5321 4.5.3.1.6. Andy
