OK, OK...No ganging up on the new guy...but if you feel the need to pile on, I can handle it. Hey, I guess if the new guy walks in and starts mouthing off, he deserves to get piled on. ;-)
If I may...The bottom line of my argument....I am NOT suggesting that Kevin change the conceptual model of the software (my pseudo-deleted paragraph on nested buckets not withstanding). Having folders available to organize your buckets in, that users can use or not use at their option (much like iTunes lets users organize playlists into folders), does not affect the plan of the software, and any user can choose not to use them and the software will look and operate just as simply as before. ... OK, been sittin' here meditatin' on the issue...the REAL point here is to have a sense of security, that what comes in the future will be taken care of. I don't care how that security is created. So, I searched "forecasting" in the group and found this... Dan Harrison wrote on 12/17/08: > I did however come up with a solution ... The goal has always been to make spending forecasting easier and more visual with MoneyWell so there are several enhancements in the works. Kevin, I'm reassured to see you are thinking specifically about forecasting. That's my point...I'm trying to create a sense of security that the future is taken care of. If by some forecasting feature, I can have some certainty about the future and don't have to create a bucket for every stinkin' expense, wonderful! I do still think top-level folders are a good idea though!
