Great point.  I was wondering what would happen if I changed my folder structure, and I'm not sure I want to find out.  I have seen some software that allow you to select whether or not the external files would be included in the actual database or if only the link to the file would be stored.  iTunes, as well as programs created by FileMaker and Access, are examples.  Is it possible for this choice to be left to the user?

The folder which stores all my receipts is currently 74 MB.  This includes most of my receipts from last year.  Although, it's relatively large, (10 times the size of my MW document), it's not very big when you consider today's file sizes and storage spaces.  How would a file size this large affect MW handling and performance?

Grace to you,
Blair

So for those of us who move data - etc - than all our receipts etc in
moneywell will be 'lost' (or the links will) and we will have to re-
attached Again?   since we store all our data on a server -- and we
have changed raids / storage types three times -- and renamed our
domain group once - all of those occurrences would break the
links ...  (local storage of these items is not an option.. )  for me
this is kind of a deal breaker... since re-dragging thousands of
receipts would be extraordinarily time consuming.. and its not always
possible to name the external storage the exact same as past when
upgrading or restoring from backups. (case in point - our raid failed
-- we decided to upgrade to a nas -- that has an issue (firmware) with
mac's - so we have had to recreate the raid - on a new system - hence
all the paths have changed...2x)

i realize the average user doesnt have raids or nas -- or server
storage.. but even the average user may upgrade their mac and have
occasion where the folder names are different.

Does MW save a copy of thereceiptimages and attachments with the MW

Actually, to save space, MoneyWell simply stores a link to your
existing document. If you delete the document in the Finder, MoneyWell
won't have areceiptto view anymore.
