By the way, I would think that this kind of functionality may not be
for MW 1.x. I am not sure how difficult reworking/adding to the
Reconcile feature is, but it seems like if this were to show up it
would be in 2.0?

Any thoughts as to the feasibility of such a Smart Reconciler?
