Ciara,

No legend that I know of... however, I think that MoneyWell is simple
enough to use and uses few enough icons, you'll get use to them pretty
quickly. The lightening bolt is a "cleared" transaction. The check
mark is a reconciled transaction, and the circle is an "open"
transaction.

> - i have a red amount on a bucket - but no transactions??

It's possible that the bucket is negative due to another cause such as
a manual money flow. Which bucket is it? Could you have
inadvertently dragged it on top of another (thereby moving money from
it to another). You can check for manual money flows by selecting the
bucket and looking at the lower right panel, "Money Flows" This will
show if money has moved from that bucket to another.

It might depend on where the money is physically stored on how you
choose to track it MoneyWell. I have my emergency money in my Savings
Account, but I also keep other money in the Savings account as well.
I'd like for my Savings account to reconcile with the Savings
statement, so creating a separate cash account isn't ideal for me.
Instead, I have a bucket which tracks that emergency money. This
bucket continues to grow until it reaches its intended size, and then
I either turn off the allocation for that bucket in my spending plan,
or flow money to another bucket as needed when it exceeds my intended
amount.

It's currently not possible to hide transactions. You can choose to
not see them by not selecting the hidden buckets.

Take a look at Edit->Define Future Time Period. When you change this
value to 30 days, then select Edit->Show Future Pending Transactions,
you should be able to see only the next 30 days of future transactions

Repeating splits isn't a current feature. Instead, I repeat the basic
transaction, and then apply the split each month. Alternatively, if
you need to forecast more precisely, you can repeat individual
transactions in each bucket, and then when the expense comes, delete
the three transactions and add the 3-way split transaction.

Take a look at the gear at the bottom of the panel and Show Hidden
accounts.
