I am not quite sure I understand what you suggested. I see how I drag
and drop buckets, and transfer funds from savings to checking.
However, my transaction was withdraw from savings. How should I best
record this?

I had a problem with moneywell in my first months trial and had to
start over because I failed to pair transactions with buckets. This is
why I know I can't simply create a withdraw from savings and not pair
it with a bucket. I feel that the most intuitive thing to do is to
take money from savings and allocate it to a bucket, then create my
withdraw from that bucket.

Is this possible?
