Ok, here is another basic question that is driving me crazy.

Let's say I transfer some cash from savings to checking to cover rent
for the month. I then write a check for rent.

How would I record this? Moneywell wants me to pair the check for rent
with a expense bucket, but how the heck do I fill my rent expense
bucket directly from my checking account? To fill an expense bucket it
will only let me draw directly from an income bucket, but in this case
its not recent income.

Any ideas?
