To suggest that Joyent was not previously "explicitly commercial about Node" is bizarre. Also, I'd expect you know the workings of these announcements as well as anyone -- months in the work and impossible to cancel press releases in the days before, not that I would see any reason why we would have. The suggestions you stand beside are good ones, though I appreciate the complexity of relationships and awkwardness and distraction of constant disclosure -- most important is for us to be honest with each other and ourselves about our interests.
