We don't. I have no idea what happened in private chats, but Isaacs was careful enough not to say anything in the public. Saying "stating joyent policy in joyent blog is a good idea" is not an endorsement of this post.
We have exactly one Joyent employee who has nothing to do with node.js and sadly has too high position to think about apologizing. Others were smart enough to keep their opinions to themselves without attracting too much attention.
You seem to be right about anything else.
