But we do not know exactly which party fired the weapon that injured the infant. The actual injury is omitted from the video. The only people we see firing weapons are the Hamas fighters. If they are firing automatic weapons about so wildly in the close vicinity of the civilians they are using as shields, a misfire, ricochet or poorly aimed shot could very well have injured the child, even if they did not intend to do harm. > Even if we granted that Hamas were using civilians as human shields (which > is not at all clear to me -- I notice that the videos you've produced as > evidence have come from the same source, one I never heard of before) I > would expect a cop who shot a baby in a hostage situation to turn in his > badge pending inquiry. And he'd sure as hell have some explaining to do. Naturally. But even though Hamas appears to be using civilians essentially as hostages, the situation in the video is by no means the same as that of police called into a hostage situation, where they can assess the situation at close range rather than from a helicopter doing evasive action under enemy fire, thousands of feet in the air. > > Maybe they even shot the infant themselves (you > > notice that bit was conveniently missing from the footage). > > "Maybe"? The callous disregard for the lives of civilians that Hamas consistently demonstrates does not put such a barbaric act beyond the pale. It is no fantasy of mine; it is a gruesome, horrible possibility that I wish I would not have to contemplate. Unfortunately, this is the horrible world that the Islamic terrorists have brought us into.
