FrSIRT reported a Notepad++ Ruby File Processing Client-Side Buffer Overflow
Vulnerability: http://www.frsirt.com/english/advisories/2007/1794

I'm hoping for 4.1.2 soon ;-) (although it could be worse).

When I open file that contained a very long line, npp had a bad performance.
Is there any possible for enhancing this?

Yup, I tried the Convert To options, but those seemed to have no effect at all.

I am used to CTRL+R copying the selection, including LF/CR. Since that didn't
function, I tried to simply replace characters in Hex Edit Mode. Later I had
no problems with that.

What should the effect be, when Converting to Windows, Mac or Unix? Should that
be visible at once, or will this only affect the file when save, for instance?

It happens a lot of times I want to use one of the many Text FX features, but
forget to select all text. I get a message, must do what I should have done
before, and navigate the menu to the desired feature again.

I would be helped a big lot if, in case of no selection, Text FX would perform
the chosen operation on all text by default.

Any votes for this?

Hi

Thanks a lot for this excellent program.

I've a small feature request:
Is-it possible to change the size (width) of the area with the line's numbers ?
At this time I can only show or hide it.
No need to put a splitter to change the size dinamycally.
An opton to set the size in pixels into the options dialog box - is enough.

Regards,

Didier

The problem is generated by HexEditorPlugin.dll. Just remove it from the plugins
folder until other solution will be found.

It's still a bit iffy in version 4.1.1 if you use relative paths:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch npp
2. Open c:\boot.ini (or similar)
3. On command line do:
3a. cd \winnt\system
3b. "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\Notepad++.exe" "..\system32\eula.txt" (*)

(*) Or similar file. The file must exist, and it should be in a different
directory
than the file from step 2. The path to the file must be relative.

This results in "Doesn't exist. Create it"

Btw: The current setting for "Remember the current session for next launch"
is not reflected when you open the preferences dialog (MISC tab).

No, renaming the plugins dir didn't help. I tried un- & reinstalling NP++, but
the problem still persists.
