I meant from menu bar ->plugins-->compare-->navigation bar option is always
selected even if u deselect it. Once u deselect & restart the n++, it gets
selected
by itself.

Is there any way to perform unattended installs? Can I specify the target
directory?
What installer are you using -- many allow for switches to make an "answer file"
like Inno's /SAVEINF=
Then, on later installs, one references the .inf file

This is such a strange behavior, I'm wondering if it's only on my machine, which
might the case because there are no other posts on the topic. After upgrading
to 5.4.4, when I click on the NotePad++ icon on the taskbar it won't minimize.
When I downgrade back to 5.4.3, it works normally. Anybody else have this
problem?

Do you have TextFX installed? If not, this is expected
If you have TextFX, check the TextFX Quick submenu, it has a Find/Replace
command.
You can always use this entry, but see what is the shortcut key being shown.
If it is not Ctrl+R, then perhaps use Shortcut mapper to adjust it to your
convenience.

Hi,
I'm unable to download the latest (as well as the latest plugin files) ... error
is:
The "npp.5.4.4.bin" file could not be found. Please select another file
Have tried a number of the other files and still no luck ... help would be so
appreciated.
Also, I originally came to the site to find out how to install pluggins into
Notepad++ ... can you give me a clue? Thanks

Perhaps changing the way to identify a link to: it is a link if it has "://"
inside would solve all the https, then ftp, then gopher, then whatever protocol
issues.
Adding the extra rule that ^www\. and \swww\. also trigger a hotspot would
be a good idea.
But then, I'd ask for a context menu entry for "Toggle hotspot styling", because
of the potential for wrong behaviour that can't be corrected by simple
inspection
of nearby text..

What the macro does is to prevent computing the maximal range again if a still
longer line is shown. Firing the macro won't resize the thumb.
I'd try this (not tested):
1/ at the end of your document wth long lines, add a screenful of blank lines,
so as to scroll up any actual text.
2/ Close Notepad++
3/ Reopen. Normally, you should only see those blank lines you added
4/ Fire the macro
5/ Now remove the bllank lines. This may scroll the long line into view, and
thumb should not change.
