I'd like to rekindle discussion on this subject. I think supporting prefix-only
definition simplifies the difficulty in the configuration aspects; however,
this might still be complicated to do inside of RFile. There are arguments that
can be made both for and against the feature.
*Against*: Many times requiring a prefix in the colfam implies that there is a
table structure change which could replace the necessity for this feature
*For*: Time to the millisecond in the colfam, and the user wants all colfams
before the year 2000 stored in one locality group.
I'd like to restart the discussion to see if this might be something we want to
tackle in 1.6.
