Review Comment:
After `a.rows[1].obsolete` is merged, then `a.rows` is replaced with
`['one', 'two']`, then `a.rows[0].name` and `a.rows[1].name` are merged,
`navigate('a', 'rows')` is `[[name: 'first'], [obsolete: 'old', name:
'second']]` while the flat `a.rows` is `[[name: 'first'], [name: 'second']]`.
The indexed alias from the first write survives the list replacement, and a
non-map element is copied from that stale map. Rebuild the element from the
write that just happened. Clearing the list with a null merge and then writing
`a.rows[0].port` has the same shape: the old `name` comes back on the nested
list.

Review Comment:
`getProperty(key, LinkedList)` on a list of navigable maps returns an
ArrayList. A caller that assigns the result to LinkedList gets a
ClassCastException. Convert to the requested list type, or return the original
list when it already is that type.
