[~gaul]: I had thought that 1.8.1 was the target based on recent discussions
with various people, but I may have misunderstood. Personally, I am not
opposed to graduating a @Beta provider to the main repo in a minor release just
because Maven artifact changes, but if everyone wants to wait for 2.0 that is
fine too. It is going to take another few days to finalize and merge the above
mentioned PRs and recent issues so we have at least a week to discuss and
decide.
