Log4j 2 doesn't guarantee that you will get the same behavior as Log4j 1. In
fact, in quite a few places we guarantee you won't since Log4j 1 had quite a
few issues.
You should never be missing any logs. If you were you would see errors in your
status log because the file couldn't be created. The file will be created when
the first log event is written to the file. With the TimeBasedTriggeringPolicy
rollover will occur when the first log event is logged after midnight.
