There will be no "official" Windows installer, or at least no-one is working on what would be required to ship one as far as I know. There will be no macOS installer afaik either. The ASF zip and the community .exe installer have comparable usage stats. The ASF .exe usage is at least an order of magnitude higher. I guess we'll find out whether people want "official" or they want installers. My concern is that the two options should differ in behaviour and end result as little as possible. That has always been the aim. We should also not conflate official with trusted - some of these are literally built and signed on the same box, by the same person, at the same time!
