Thanks for clarifying! I definitely agree, it's very helpful to establish concrete plans before implementation, especially for a project as large as Superset. Regarding the query-backed values, the Canvas prototype's Markdown widget seems to already support it, so it looks like the inline value example should be possible. Though, I will need a deeper investigation to see which widgets support them specifically and how it should work for our PDF rendering. But yes, sounds good, we will do our best to resolve any kinks that come up, I just wanted to inform you of the direction!
